Porridge is always a great start to the day but is also synonymous with being incredibly boring. In this case the raw cacao gives you an amazing energy boost and the quinoa a good decent amount of stodge to start off your day!

1 cup (240 grams) of pre-cooked quinoa

1 cup (240 grams) of buckwheat flakes

3 cups of almond milk (480 grams)

½ cup of water (120 grams)

1- 2 tbs. of cacao

Pinch of salt

Orange zest

Splash of maple syrup to top it off for extra caramel flavour

1 tsp. of cacao nibs

Seasonal fruits to top it off


In a pan gently heat up your almond milk and add your pre cooked quinoa and buckwheat flakes. If the milk disappears quickly add some water until your ingredients are well combined together.

Add your flavours of salt, cacao and orange zest. Gently stir in.

Portion porridge into bowls; I like topping it off with seasonal fruits orange zest, maple syrup and cacao nibs for crunch and oomph!
