How to Have a Restaurant Quality Meal at Home this Valentine’s Day and Support Local Businesses at the Same Time

With Valentine’s Day fast approaching, and this year’s special occasion looking a little different than previous years I wanted to highlight how you can still spread the love – 2021 style. Of course, usual plans of fine-dining at sipping cocktails at your favourite bar are placed on the back-burner for now, but that doesn’t mean you still can’t enjoy restaurant-quality food – all from the comfort of your own home – and help support the local hospitality businesses all at the same time. Now that really is sharing the love! From Breakfast in Bed Hamper’s to start the day the right way to Michelin-Starred dishes and everything in between – we can all celebrate and appreciate the ones we hold so dear – even if we can’t hold them right now. I have tried to find companies that offer delivery Nation-wide but have also focussed on a few local  companies that I absolutely adore. Whatever you are doing this Valentine’s Day – stay safe, stay humble and sending you all virtual hugs and love.

This unique concept by Masaki Sugisaki at Dinings SW3 has got us hooked. Using fish sourced from Cornish dayboats this four-course Valentine’s Day seafood feast is a must-have for any seafood lover. It comes complete with Potted Native Lobster, hand-dived scallops and a British yuzu dessert as well as a pre-mixed Jasmine and Rhubarb Martini for two. Also included in the box is selection of traditional chocolates and candy – a nod to the Japanese custom where the women is expected to send a box of chocolates to the object of her desire on February 14th and then on March 14th – which is known as ‘White Day’ if the feeling is mutual, the boy will return his desire with a reciprocal gift or candy. So any bookings for the Valentine’s Day feast will also receive a 25% discount for Dining’s at Home on March 14th (which so happens to be Mother’s Day – one stone, two lobsters – wink*)

Bottle Bar and Shop Hamper [Nationwide]

Don’t forget the drinks! Create a personalised hamper from husband and wife duo Natalie and Xhulio and surprise your loved ones to a selection of their finest handcrafted cocktails and tastiest treats and pretend you are in your own private bar for the night, sipping on boujee creations. Each Bottle Bar & Shop hamper includes multiple choices of cocktails and gin infusions and three delicious treats that are all perfect pairings to make the evening something super memorable. This is a great gift for those who are unable to meet in person and sip the night away – but can create their own virtual bar instead.
